Worse than Cher as Catwoman

I Promised Comic Con stuff but something more dire has come to my attention. British newspaper The Globe is trying to say that Miley Cyrus auditioned for Batgirl. I have to say that this is worse than the Cher rumors I mentioned awhile back. According to the British newspaper,(Wasn't it also a crazy British newspaper that announced the Cher news? Yes, yes it was.) Miley showed up in costume and “stunned” the producers by spouting out her self-written lines for the part. I highly doubt that anything coherent could come out of Miley Cyrus' mouth, much less Batgirl lines that would impress Christopher Nolan.
Also, we have to take into consideration that Christopher Nolan doesn't like Robin at all, so there's no reason for him to want a Batgirl unless they're pushing for some sex appeal(and please tell me nobody thinks Miley Cyrus is sexy *shudders*). Besides, if they wanted that then they could just add Catwoman(just not Cher!). Seeing as Gary Oldman announced at Comic Con that Batman 3 starts shooting next year, I'm betting this is just Miley Cyrus'(or probably her dad's) sad attempt at attention. Either that, or it's just another crazy British newspaper. Either way, enjoy this awesome Batgirl picture I found :D.

The Man Who Drowned in Titanic Might be Aquaman

If you haven't figured it out yet, Leonardo DiCaprio is producing Aquaman. Now this doesn't necessarily mean he will be the star, but I'm betting he will. He just doesn't seem to be the kind of guy that would let someone else star in his movie. I'm not really a big fan of Aquaman, so this news doesn't really hurt me. For the sake of the Aquaman fans out there though, I hope they do a good job with the movie. Also, I don't want to see a remake of the Aquaman movie 2 years after this one gets released.

I'll post some more news later about fun stuff revealed at comic con :D.

The Avatar Gang Looks Grumpy

This is the latest picture out for The Last Airbender and it's pretty cool to see a shot of different bending besides air. Admittedly it is kind of fuzzy, but you can definitely tell that Aang is in the top left and Katara and Sokka are in the bottom left. People are saying that the top right is Zuko, but it looks more like the fire lord to me. It seems much too tall and old to be Zuko. Also, there are rumors that the bottom right guy may be Bumi, but it looks more like Long Feng in my opinion. I mean he is bald, so that covers both of them, but he doesn't look like he'd be 112ish years old.

There's also some more pics of Zuko, Aang, Katara, and Sokka (sadly no Toph as of yet). As you can see from the pics, the Avatar gang is very emo indeed. It still makes me sad that Katara and Sokka are so very white. I'm ok with the people they chose to be Aang and Zuko though.

Sock Hits the Big Screen with Alan Tudyk

If you haven't seen Reaper, then you really should. Especially because the snotty CW thinks that it's too good for it and they're canceling it after it's 2nd season. I assume this is because it doesn't fit their normal standard of tv show since it isn't a drama or a "reality". In fact, it's a pretty hilarious show about some guys trying to return souls that have escaped hell since the main character's soul is owned by the devil. One of the main characters is Sock(Tyler Labine) and he's pretty hilarious as well. Anyways, this fall Tyler is costarring alongside Alan Tudyk in Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. They are hillbillies that get accused of being psycho killers despite not being so. It's a comedy based on a horror, so hopefully it is the quality of something like Shaun of the Dead, as opposed to something like the Scary Movie series. Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is coming out October 31st.

This Mad Hatter is Sure to Give Children Nightmares

So I mentioned before how much Johnny Depp loves his hats,(hats and eye makeup that is :) ) but this hat is sure to help him terrify children all over. This image is just one of the bunch from Alice in Wonderland that Disney recently released. The other pictures released are of the Red Queen (Bonham Carter), the White Queen (Anne Hathaway), Alice (Mia Wasikowska) next to a tea cup, and Tweedledee and Tweedledum (Matt Lucas), as well as some fun background shots.

Personally, I really like Bonham Carter as the Red Queen. She is definitely the best person to pull it off. I like how this picture of her makes her head look huge in comparison to her body. It makes the movie seem more cartoonish and fun instead of creepy lol. I also think the Tweedledee and Tweedledum are pretty hilarious. The White Queen is ok. I definitely like how they made her makeup and eyes stand out from the rest of her total whiteness. The sad thing about these pictures is that the picture of Alice is the most boring out of the bunch besides the background pictures. I guess Alice is probably the most boring character in the story :). Anyway, enjoy the fun pictures and remember that Alice in Wonderland comes out March 5, 2010.

Avatar Might Not Be Super Terrible...I Hope

I meant to post about this last week sometime, but seeing as how I've been helping out with roofing, it slipped my mind. By now I'm sure you've seen this first teaser trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender. From the looks of it, it seems like he might actually be able to pull off a good movie. It does slightly concern me that Aang's tattoo looks more like a bruise or some hair stubble, and that almost every main character (if not all) are white instead of their respective races. But, this trailer of Aang blowing out candles makes me think that if nothing else, the bending in this movie will look good. So if all us Avatar fans will just ignore what the characters are supposed to look like, we might be able to endure/enjoy this movie. I do hope that instead of the more serious nature that Shyamalan usually makes his characters, they will all be as sarcastic as in the show. Since, I'm pretty sure the sarcasm is half the reason that Avatar has as many fans as it does. It certainly won me over :).
