Malfoy looks like a stoner now

So there's 8 new posters for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince that just got released. I must admit that they are cool looking, if not a bit over dramatic (but I guess that's what most action movie posters strive for anyways). The 1st one is of Harry (of course) giving the camera his best emo-glare with some Daily Prophet newspapers flying around in the background. The next one is a pretty sweet picture of Dumbledore even though he does look a bit chunky because of the way his robes are swirling around. You can't see much behind Dumbledore, but I'm guessing it's supposed to be Tom Riddle's cave since it looks well, pretty cavey behind him.

The 3rd one is a picture of Hermione in an odd sweater with some very random doves flying around behind her (seriously why doves?). It reminded me of the fact that almost none of the main students wear school uniforms anymore. I realize that was because David Yates wanted to make them seem more like normal kids, but I still think that it was somewhat of a cop-out as far as costumes go. I mean they're witches and wizards for goodness sake, their robes could be downright amazing and even glow in the dark if they wanted to.

I have to say that the next poster (shown on the right) is pretty cool since Ron actually looks impressive wearing the Quidditch uniform; and yes I realize I just said almost none of them wear the school uniforms anymore, but this is Quidditch we're talking about. They really couldn't avoid Quidditch for much longer anyway, considering that the 3rd movie didn't even cover the fact that Gryffindor won the Quidditch Cup. I'm also pretty sure that the 5th movie didn't even mention Quidditch since it was so busy with the actions of Dumbledore's Army. They also have to include Quidditch in this movie because of the Ginny/Harry kiss (even though I suppose they could've just thrown it in at another random part, like how Harry's Firebolt from Sirius just got pushed to the very end of the 3rd movie).

The 5th picture (shown at the top of this post) is the very gloomy looking Malfoy, which explains the title of this post completely. I realize that he's now part of the Death Eaters, but he still looks like he's aged about 10 years since the last movie because of his shady eyes. The 6th poster is a pretty boring version of Snape standing there with his arms crossed. He really looks like he needs a haircut now, to get rid of all that greasy girl hair. The next poster is another one of Harry, but now he's looking over his shoulder, no doubt at something menacing coming at him in the rain. There's a matching rainy picture of Dumbledore as the last poster, so I'm assuming both posters are supposed to infer that the 2 are probably on their way to Riddle's secret cave since Dumbledore doesn't look quite like death yet. I have high hopes for this movie and seeing these posters makes me believe that it's going to be good. I really just hope that it doesn't skip huge chunks of plot that may not be crucial to the storyline, but are certainly important to the people that have actually read the books. Oh and I almost forgot to remind you that it comes out July 17th, 2009.

But, would you really want to watch Quidditch in all 7-8 movies?

No, but a nice mention of "hey btw we won the Quidditch Cup" in book 3 would've been good.

i think the poster of malfoy makes him look more like he's constipated than like a stoner. if not then its at least a combination of the two

So very diappointed by the Hermione picture, I mean really, they could have put some books back there is something that at least made sense, as for poor Malfoy he is crazy looking, but don't his parents agree to kill him if he fails in this book or something? Anyway, still excited about the movies, and I can't be all upset about them ruining the book since I don't remember most of it at this point, huzzah!
