Do not pass go, do not collect $200

Ok so for some strange reason, Hasbro decided that making a real life Monopoly movie would be a good idea. Their explanation is the fact that right now life is like Monopoly with all the talk about bailouts and Wall street. I think this is a ridiculous idea. Just because people know what's going on in the financial market, doesn't mean that they'd want to watch a movie about it. Also, who actually still likes playing Monopoly? If the movie ends up being like any of the games I've played, it'll go on forever until someone finally get's pissed off at 3 a.m. and throws the board across the room (and no I don't really know what that would signify in a movie). I really don't know what the plot of this movie would be either. I mean, would the main characters be a Scotti dog, an iron, a thimble or a top hat?

Other reasons this movie makes no sense:

There are no real get out of jail free cards or chance cards or a community chest
Few people visit jail that often and you can't just roll doubles to get out
Free parking is just free parking and not a jackpot of cash
You don't get automatic money every so often
You can't just charge people rent for standing in your business
Building houses and hotels everywhere has nothing to do with most businesses

Anyways the execs at Hasbro are really excited about the prospects of this movie. I can't really see anyone getting psyched to see this movie though. I can only imagine that it will be mocked, especially when the trailers start playing on tv.

What are you talking about? i know of one person who would love to watch this movie over and over and over...and yes, he might be an only child. Oh, and by the way, believe it or not rolling doubles actually does work. :D

Bah, monopoly is boring enough. I don't want to watch two hours of it.

Um, love the evil dog picture, and wow, I even enjoy the game but still think this is a ridiculous idea for a movie. And wouldn't the person who would win the game be the bad guy in this...?
