Being the Chosen one gets you chicks apparently

There's a new international trailer out for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It is short by it's still pretty cool. Make sure you watch this trailer quickly before WB yanks it off of youtube again (and also before you read this as it contains spoilers). You get to see Dumbledore and Harry entering the cave where the locket is, and you get to see more of Dumbledore facing off against the Inferi. The original trailer is embedded in this one in the middle, which shows you just how crappy and short it really was. Harry also is running through a field towards a house that's on fire, which I'm pretty sure is the Gaunt shack, but who knows. Ron gets kissed by a pretty busty Lavender Brown, which I'm sure will make all of the fan girls uber jealous. We get to see more memory tubes as well as Slughorn sucking the memory out of his head in order to give it to Harry (I'm excited to see how the lucky potion scene will turn out in the movie). Dumbledore reveals that Harry is "The Chosen One" which I'm sure is going to excite all the lame people that haven't actually finished the books. The best part of the trailer is at the end though. Some random girl is oggling Harry and he oggles back until Hermoine yells at him saying that "she's only interested in you because you're the chosen one" and he says "But I am the chosen one" and she smacks him with a rolled up paper. It's pretty great and makes the really fast cut scenes in the rest of the trailer worth it. Oh and btw SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE lol.

Lich King is here, well kinda :D

Ok so on Tuesday the new patch (called the "Echoes of Doom") preparing for the Wrath of the Lich King came out. It was huge! The login screen looks amazing now (especially if you loved that skeleton dragon from the trailer that I was so excited about). There's an amazing looking ice castle in the background and a really cool bridge covered in big curvey spikes. The cool skeleton dragon comes flying from the back near the castle and flies overhead shortly before coming to land to the right of the login boxes. Cool things that came along with the fun new dragon login screen include the new Inscription Profession, new haircuts available for a small amount of gold, and loads of new spells and talent trees. You can check out Wowhead's section about the Inscription profession here and see all the amazing goodness that comes with it (this should somewhat explain why the prices are jacked up insanely for herbs right now :D ).

Along with the new Inscription profession came a few new abilities for the gathering professions. Herbalists now get the move Lifeblood, which lets the user heal itself by clicking it when you're around earthy things (fun flowers shoot up from the ground to heal you). Also, if you wondered what the benefit of pounding away all day at ore nodes was, then here's a new spell for you. It's called Toughness and the final rank increases your maximum health by 500. That's not bad at all :D . There's also a fun new spell for skinners called Master of Anatomy which ultimately increases your critical strike rating by 25. I especially love it's explanation for why it does this. "Skinning all those dead animals has broadened your anatomical knowledge, increasing your critical strike rating by 25," lol :D .

As far as new spells go, I can only vouch for Locks, Mages, and Pallys for the moment seeing as how I haven't tweaked with the other classes. Locks have a new spell down the demonology tree that's called Metamorphosis that lets you turn into a demon. Finally! I've been saying they should give Locks a demon form that lets them fly similar to how druids can change into a bird, (that and let priests grow angel wings that let them fly) since flying mounts were created. You can't fly with this demon form but it's still cool anyways. This spell is pretty awesome seeing as how just one of the things it does in its final version is increase your armor by 600%.

As for Mages, they have a hilarious new fire spell at the bottom of their talent tree. It's called Living Bomb and it's very similar to Seed of Corruption. Basically the targeted person ends up taking a lot of fire damage and eventually exploding *KABOOM* causing fire damage to all enemies with 10 yards of themselves lol. The only bad thing is that you can't use it on more than one person at the same time ;) .

Paladins everywhere will be confused by the addition of 2 more Judgements to their list of spells but hopefully will learn to love it like I do. These additional spells let the Pally keep up their blessings for about 2 mins and then they can choose whether to heal themselves, slow the attacker and prevent them from running or regain mana by using each different Judgement. I'm betting Pallys will be nerfed in a few days though because they seem overpowered even when you're playing with one. There is an amazing new spell down the Protection tree called Hammer of Righteousness that let's you "Hammer the current target and up to 2 additional nearby targets, causing 3 times your main hand damage per second as Holy damage." It's freaking amazing :D . Also, if you haven't checked out the new Death Knight talent trees you really should.

Don't forget that Hallow's End starts today as noted by the new amazing ingame calendar system (which will most likely make me never visit their main site again haha).

Wait, Sherlock Holmes might not be incredibly boring?!?

The new Sherlock Holmes movie stars Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock (duh) and Jude Law as Dr. Watson. Jude Law has been in a Sherlock Holmes tv show before but it seems like he was a pretty obscure character. I think it's pretty cool that they actually gave the part of Sherlock to someone with a sense of humor since usually Sherlock Holmes is so boring. Hopefully this movie is pretty entertaining since Robert Downey usually is in his movies. I don't really know much about Jude Law though so I can't say much there. This movie looks mildy interesting but I won't be jumping to see it in theaters. I'll probably see it off of Netflix though. Anyway, everyone is saying how hot both of them are in their outfits but I think Robert Downey Jr. is kinda goofy looking, especially in his hat. Also Jude Law looks creepy with a mustache (like I'll kill you in your sleep creepy *shudder*). Anyway, the movie is supposed to come out sometime in 2009 but there's no month listed at imdb :P .

In other news there's a sad orange kitty in our yard that is probably dying. We think it got hit by a car since its face is all cut up and we are probably going to take it to the Humane Society since there's not much we can do for it :( . I don't know where he came from but he seems like a really nice cat to have to die :( .

Tim Burton <3 Johnny Depp for sure

So there are some big rumors flying around about the 4th Pirates of the Caribbean movie which might have it's own trilogy. I hope they don't push for the trilogy personally because that will probably lead to forcing out another 3 Pirates movies without trying to make them good. But this might not be the case if one of the rumors is true. Supposedly Gore Verbinski (the guy who directed the first 3 Pirates movies if you didn't know) is returning to direct this movie but there's whisperings about Tim Burton maybe taking over as director. If this is true, then Burton and Depp are going to be spending a lot of time together since Johnny Depp is playing the Mad Hatter (like I mentioned here) in Burton's Alice in Wonderland movie. Seriously I always knew they had a thing for each other lol ;) .

Anyway, Burton would probably do a good job with the Pirates movies especially since they're supposed to be focusing on the past (at least that's what I've heard) when Captain Jack and Barbossa were looking for the Fountain of Youth. I think it's very plausible that this is what the 4th movie is going to be about because another one of the rumors is that Geoffrey Rush has signed on for the 4th movie as well. I do think it would be a better idea for Orlando and Keira to return in this movie seeing as how Will Turner is now immortal and Elizabeth isn't. They could even make it a few years after the end of the last movie so Will's son could be older and go looking for Jack's help or something. But currently I've heard no rumors talking about Keira or Orlando returning so that probably isn't going to happen.

Captain Jack's brother (when did he ever mention having a brother and where was he in the last movie when all the pirates faced off?) is also rumored to show up in this movie. From what I've heard, it's either going to be Sacha Baron Cohen or Russell Brand (you know that crazy guy with the biggest white guy fro I've ever seen that scared people at the MTV award show lol). Sacha's played in a movie with Johnny Depp before (he was Pirelli in Sweeney Todd which I still need to see!) but I haven't really seen anything of either comedian's work. I do think it would be good to have someone with a sense of humor playing Jack's brother though :D . That's all for the current rumors though.

Don't miss The Office episode called "Business Ethics" tonight at 9 on NBC and don't click here unless you want to read a summary of the plot. Also check out this very cool Nightmare Before Christmas theme for Firefox that I just downloaded today. It's a very cool theme for Halloween.

Johnny Depp must really like hats....

This is so very disturbing....This is so very disturbing....
Well he must have to love hats and weird hair since he's been through a lot of both in his movies. First you have Pirates, in which he has the weird braids and he wears an amazing pirate hat. Then you have Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where he wears the big purple top hat. Even as a cartoon Johnny Depp has an insane batch of emo bangs that constantly poke out in the Corpse Bride. He's got the weird skunk hair in Sweeney Todd (and he was ya know the demon barber) and finally he's going to be the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's new Alice in Wonderland.

This Alice in Wonderland will be live action with an unknown actress named Mia Wasikowska playing Alice. There's some pictures here of Alice and she looks like she's on a boat; which I'm sure has fans freaking out since I've heard this part isn't in the book. I wouldn't be too worried if I was a fan of the book though, seeing as how Tim Burton is slightly insane an amazing director and Johnny Depp always acts good in his films (yet more proof of their love for each other lol). I'm looking forward to it since it seems like it will be a lot more interesting than the cartoon version. I hope it's full of a good deal of insanity (let's just hope there's no more cross-dressing Johnny Depp) seeing as how you're adding up both Alice in Wonderland (greatest stoner dream of all time) and Tim Burton. Anyway it's due to release on March 5, 2010 in the US.

Meet the Graysons

So just when Smallville finally isn't sucking so bad (or so I've heard from people that actually still watch it) the CW decides to add some competition for it (ultimately probably replacing it seeing as how they both have the same executive producers). Yesterday they announced "The Graysons" and if you can't guess what it's about you fail at life ;) . Anyway it's about Robin (a.k.a Dick Grayson still) and his family (before they were killed obviously). It's going to be set in modern times and I'm sure Dick (or DJ as he's being called seeing as how people are immature) will probably be highschool age so lots of girls can oggle whoever plays him (even though he's supposed to be pretty young when his parents are killed).

Lots of people are saying how this show is going to suck because supposedly the only thing that made Smallville great was the fact that Superman already had super powers. I don't even like Superman and I used to watch Smallville. It was a good drama in the beginning. I think it's major flaw was the fact that the CW tried to keep playing on that drama without moving the Superman story forward fast enough. But, seeing as how the CW has a lot of really popular dramas, I'm sure they're going to have a plan for making this show successful. I mean the executive producers of Smallville will have had time to learn from their mistakes and the CW will probably cast someone hot to play Robin (I mean that's all Supernatural has going for it and those guys aren't really that hot and has anyone noticed that they're really gay for each other?). I'm guessing that will fix most of people's concerns about the show and if not they can just turn it into a weird circus family drama.

I hope that (not to sound vindictive and creepy) the Graysons get offed early personally. That way Dick can be emo and get adopted by Batman and whine to his schoolmates about how he has no personal life and how his parents are dead ect. ect. Then he can turn into Robin and start prowling the streets at night in order to avenge his family. I mean even a Batman show from the Robin perspective would be pretty interesting to me. So I'm looking forward to this show as another thing I can watch in case they end up killing Reaper too :( .

In other news, there's no Office tonight because of the stupid debate, but it's perfectly ok for NBC to show 2 crappy "My Name is Earls" instead of one of each. I'm angry seeing as how I've been looking forward to it all week :P that and the fact that "My Name is Earl" sucks hardcore.

For a whole month!

So my desktop is finally up and running again! Turns out that there was just one memory stick broken :P (and that was the lucky stick that somehow got tested by itself). We're still not sure whether or not the motherboard was broken in the first place but now I have a new one (and it would be a waste of money to try and return it). Also, last night it was being buggy about whether or not it wanted to connect to the internet which was pretty annoying. I finally got it to connect tonight and then everything started to work again after I reset the computer's clock. Go figure. Oh and I think it was a few days and a month ago that my desktop copped out on me. So I've been without it for at least a month :P blek. I had my ghetto little laptop to keep me going though :D . I can finally give it a rest haha and oh man does it need to be defragmented. But anyway I need to go to bed seeing as how I have to get up at 7 and all. I'll make sure to post tomorrow when I get a chance between classes.
