Fun Iron Man Goodies

The Iron Man DVD is coming out tomorrow and it has some pretty cool (well kinda cool at least) making-of clips included. The first clip shows some of the first concept art for the Iron Man suit. It's pretty cool that they actually thought about whether or not a person could bend and move inside without breaking their arms and legs (even though nobody ever gets to wear the real suit :P ). The 2nd movie is kinda cheesey and just talks about how awesome it would be to have a suit that would let us fly. The 3rd one is pretty funny since it's the makeup artists making the Iron Man suit on Robert Downey Jr. They have to shave him and then paint him with what I can only assume is latex. Then they peel it off; which has to feel like a giant bandaid being ripped off slowly lol. Anyway you can watch the clips here but I'd advise you to skip the 2nd one since it is pretty boring.

As far as the rest of the DVD goes, I'll start by saying that I really like the inside cover picture a lot more than the cover pictures. There's also going to be 3 different versions of the DVD that you can buy straight away. There's the Two-Disc Special Collector's Edition, a Special Collector's Edition Blu-ray Disc and a Single-Disc Edition. I thought there was a typo when I originally saw the prices of the DVDs but I guess not. Amazon has the Single Disc listed at $34.99 but it's on sale for $14.99. What the heck were they thinking by pricing this DVD so high? $20 is pretty expensive for a single disc let alone $35. Also the original price of either of the Two-Disc sets is $39.99 with the Blu-ray on sale for $25.95 and the normal on sale for $22.99. I'm definitely not buying this DVD right away and I can't believe how many pre-orders there probably already are for it. If I knew anyone paid $40 for a DVD (especially when you can pirate anything now) I'd have to kick them in the shins and laugh at their stupidity.

Totally gonna make these cookies!

So I found what seems like a good recipe for Pumpkin cookies. I'm going to try it out tonight with the addition of some delicious cream-cheese frosting on top :D . Also I'm not going to add the pecans or walnuts just because I don't think they need them. Maybe I'll add some orange food coloring to the frosting to make them brighter too :) . I hope they aren't too soft seeing as how there's pumpkin puree in them. It's not that much so I wouldn't think they would be, but who knows. I'm excited that this batch makes 3.5 dozen but knowing my fiance's cookie portions, it'll probably make closer to 2 haha. The picture of them looks really good and it's making me super hungry. I'm about to go get dinner and then go swimming so it will be awhile before I can make them. When I get back and finally make them I'll probably post about them :D and let you know if they're good or not. Here's the recipe if you want to try and make them too :D .

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 ½ cup ap flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
pinch nutmeg
½ cup butter, room temperature
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup pumpkin puree
1 c chocolate chips or raisins
½ - 1 cup pecans or walnuts (optional)

Preheat oven 350F. Line two baking sheets with parchment.
Whisk together flour, leavening, salt and spices.
In a large bowl, cream the butter with the sugars. Beat in egg, then vanilla, then pumpkin. Add flour mixture and stir until just incorporated. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans, if using.
Drop by tablespoons and bake for 12-14 minutes at 350F. Bake them until they’re lightly browned at the edges, but not dark.
Remove to a wire rack to cool.
Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.

Jim and Pam are back tomorrow

Hooray the Office premieres tomorrow at 9 with a 1-hour episode. The episode is supposed to be called "Weight Loss" according to NBC. It says that all of the branch members become obsessed with their weight (although I wouldn't think Jim would get into the craze, he'd probably just make fun of the rest of them as well as trying to psych out Dwight of course) and start to diet like crazy because of a weight loss initiative from Dunder Mifflin. That sounds like a really entertaining episode full of Kevin goodness haha. I can't wait to see how crazy Dwight gets over trying to lose weight either. Angela is already tiny enough so I'm sure she'll just be snooty to everyone else (especially Phyllis) and I'm sure Stanley will be as sarcastic as ever. Hopefully Michael doesn't try and make everyone go anorexic but that would be something he would actually do. Oh yeah, in other Office news; Amy Poehler confirmed that she was going to be starring on the Office spin-off last week, as soon as she returns from her maternity leave that is. I hope it ends up being just as good as the Office but I hope none of the current cast have to leave the show for the spin-off.

Also in other news, I got my new motherboard, so here I am crossing my fingers that my computer will be fixed tonight. I'm seriously going to be sad if it's not, //wrists sad lol jk :P .

Love the kitties!

About a year ago my fiance and I adopted 2 Russian Blue kittens from the Black & Orange Cat Foundation. They're a really cool shelter system that helps spay and neuter stray cats as well as finding them good homes. I found our 2 kitties listed on a website called Petfinder and we ended up adopting them a week later. My life would be a lot more boring without Yuna and Lulu because they're constantly trying to see what I'm up to. Yuna loves to snuggle with me and always wants on my lap, especially when I'm trying to do my homework. Both of them also love to play fetch and Lulu will keep bringing toys to you until she gets too tired to move.

I got an email from the Black & Orange Cat Foundation today asking for help to win this contest; so I thought it'd be a great chance to get them some attention :) . The people who run the foundation are really nice and they love to see how their cats are doing. They really deserve it so please vote for them. A lot of their expenses come out of their own pockets so they could really use the help. Also, this picture looks a lot like Yuna but I usually don't catch her with her tongue sticking out; that's Lulu's area of specialty :D lol.

Thank goodness for Panera

Ok so our internet and cable is completely out so here I am at Panera. Boo no internet (also Panera is lame because it wouldn't serve me soup 15 mins before lunch despite the fact that the soup was ready when we picked up our food :P ). We think the line is down behind our garage but currently we're not sure. Hopefully it gets sorted out today but who knows. Until then I must find something to occupy myself instead of the WoW filled day I had originally planned :( . Until I can post, enjoy the picture of Gir missing his cupcake as much as I miss the internet.

Disney is so "creative" sometimes

Disney is making an adventure movie set in space. Everyone is thinking it's going to be a Tomorrowland/Space Mountain movie or a rip-off of Star Wars. Oh yeah and it's starring The Rock. Now, Disney is of course denying any rumors that it's based off of Space Mountain or any part of their park. But come on, what else could it be? They've already ripped off of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride (which was good because they actually got talented actors) and the Haunted Mansion ride (which was one of the stupidest movies I've seen). I've also heard rumors that Meet the Robinsons was supposed to be their version of Tomorrowland and that it was a good movie (seeing as how I still haven't seen it I wouldn't know....sad really). So maybe it will be "creative" but I'll only say that if turns out to be good.

Personally I hope they don't try and rip-off a whole section of their park into a movie because then when little kids run to Disney to see Tomorrowland, they're going to be really confused. Both Pirates and the Haunted Mansion weren't really like their ride counterparts and I'm sure some obnoxious little kids kept waiting for Jack Sparrow to pop up even though he never would. Personally, I was happy when I rode both the Haunted Mansion and Pirates rides and found out that neither of them had changed even after the movies were released. I was shocked that Disney didn't try to mutate the original rides into something new (and if they try to do that to Space Mountain somebody is getting hurt). Disney had better realize that Pirates was only good because of the story, script, and actors they chose to play the parts (not just because people were nastalgic because that obviously didn't help them with the horrendous Haunted Mansion movie). So hopefully they are telling the truth and they don't just try to make some sappy space movie based off of their park with The Rock as some little kid's "funny" dad that ends up saving the day. After all, they did make Wall-E really good with hardly any speaking roles, so they could do it again right?

P.S. after posting this picture, I'm having withdrawals from the ride :( .

Matthew McConaughey would rather Hulk-out

[caption id="attachment_941" align="alignleft" width="260" caption="Best Friends Forever!"]Best Friends Forever![/caption]It seems like every day I'm finding out about another superhero movie in the making and who is rumored to be playing the lead role. Apparently Matthew McConaughey had no idea that he was rumored to be playing Captain America (supposedly Leonardo DiCaprio was rumored for this spot too :P but as far as I know Marvel has only denied Will Smith). Well, neither did I until just now haha. I don't think Captain America is in love with himself enough to be played by McConaughey personally. In love with America, yes; but not with himself. I also think Captain America with a southern accent would be silly. I guess it would make sense for him to be from the south since he's insanely patriotic though.

MTV decided to question McConaughey about the rumors as if that would help to clarify matters for the rest of us. You can read how seemingly "clueless" they thought Matthew was when they asked him about it here (lol I never thought someone would be surprised by McConaughey being clueless about anything). Anyway, when MTV asked what he thought about playing Captain A. (lol) he said that he thought that was a "super cool name— Captain America."-comicbookmovie.com. He also said that he wasn't that big of a comic book fan as a kid (shocker!) and that he'd rather play the Hulk (Please we do not need a 3rd Hulk especially not a McConaughey version). Lol could you imagine if McConaughey did sign on and him and Hugh Jackman had to team up seeing as Captain America and Wolverine used to be best buds? I would have to laugh through the whole movie (especially if they were in love with each other as much as they were in the old cartoons :D ).

In other news, my power supply was almost returned to me last night. I literally missed it by less than 5 minutes. I saw the UPS truck driving away on the main road leading from my house. Then I showed up home to see that little brown sticker denying me my power supply without a signature :( . Boo I say! Anyway, I should hopefully have my desktop fixed by tonight and maybe I'll post my happiness if it's working properly. (Hope you enjoy the pic Matt :D .)

I'm going to Northrend for X-mas!

Yesterday Blizzard announced that the Wrath of the Lich king is coming out November 13, 2008. I can't believe it's actually coming out this year after how much the Burning Crusade was drawn out. I thought it wasn't true when I first saw the news on a Digg article. It seems like Blizzard has been getting its butt in gear for the Christmas season though (no doubt hoping for huge sales as X-mas pressies). I do wish they would've bumped it to the beginning of December so I wouldn't have to worry at all about classes, but no it's got to come out a month before I'm finished. Oh well at least I'm done the 11th. I feel sorry for those saps that go until the 18th haha. This gives me something good to look forward to in terms of things coming out near Christmas seeing as how Harry Potter got bumped forward :( .

I wish it cost less than $39.99 for the normal edition too, but it's still cool to have it coming out this early. The collector's edition is of course more expensive at $69.99. I'm not going to shell out that kinda cash for the expansion but for those of you that want to go ahead. It contains an art book, behind the scenes dvd, a soundtrack, an exclusive in-game pet, 2 starter decks for the WoW card set March of the Legion which include 2 exclusive cards (only available in the collector's edition) and a mousepad featuring the continent of Northrend.

I've already mentioned some of the game's new features. The biggest of the news is probably the new Death Knight class which I've already mentioned. Now there's also going to be a non-inventory space to keep your vanity pets and mounts (basically you get to learn these items instead) which makes the Locks and the Pallys not have an advantage from casting their mounts anymore. The same thing goes for PvP and raiding tokens which makes me want to ask Blizzard why it took them so long. There's also going to be a Battleground that's not instanced (so that should be a "fun" place to hang out lol :) ). Hopefully it's in Northrend so nooblets don't have to worry about being constantly ganked by players in transit. Also, people's addons will be slightly cut because of the built-in threat meter. This should be helpful to people oblivious of such things.

There's going to be new instances as well as a fixed-up version of Naxxramas designed for 10 and 25 people. I think that's really cool since I never got to go to Naxx (that and the fact that it sucks to get more than 25 people to raid anything). I'm excited about having another undead/winter zone too. I also hope that getting exalted with the Netherwing will lead to getting one of those icey dragons as a mount :D . One of the bad things is no new playable races. There will be lots of new NPC races that you can talk to though, so I guess that's something. Enough of my rambling, there is a lot more that's being added that I didn't mention so go look and drool at it :P .

Whoa Wordpress is broken at least it is on IE. Standby for more posts until it fixes itself so I can see whether or not it broke all of my posts or if it just looks that way. Until then enjoy this really huge Avengers picture :D .

Celebrities jumping on the Superhero bandwagon

If you thought the rumors of Will Smith as Captain America were weird, I've got some surprises for you. First on the list is the fact that Brendan Fraser was supposedly almost Superman in Superman Returns. You can read part of Brendan's interview here and the playable interview is here. He says a lot about how he was really excited to be Superman and how all the rest of the people who tried out for it were supposedly nobodies from soap operas and other such things. He also says that he saw the script written by J.J. Abrams and that it was amazing. Abrams was responsible for producing Cloverfield which was a decent movie but I wouldn't say it was amazing script wise. Anyway Brendan could've played Superman but I don't think he could've been serious about it. The emo script of Superman Returns would've been even weirder with Brendan Fraser as Superman. He acts pretty silly in most of his roles so he would've had to chill out and that's probably one reason he turned it down (if he was offered it in the first place). Also I think a bigger nerd should've played the part.

The 2nd thing on the list of superhero insanity is David Boreanaz playing the Green Lantern. If I needed any more reason to hate the Green Lantern, than this is definitely it. I don't know what WB was thinking on this one (other than the fact that a million teenage girls will go to see it in hopes of seeing him shirtless). Why not pair an obnoxious superhero with a bad soap opera level of acting (nothing could go wrong right)? Also, despite the fact that recently in most the Green Lantern stories he's been black, they're using someone who's decidedly not black (I bet you Will Smith is mad :P ). I guess I have to give David the fact that he's already played the Green Lantern. All I know is that I'm definitely not going to see that movie haha.

[caption id="attachment_927" align="alignleft" width="218" caption="Who me? I'm not being totally obvious, no not at all!"]Who me? I'm not being totally obvious, no not at all![/caption]Ok last on the list is the fact that there's a rumor going around that Eva Longoria wants to be in the Avengers. This is because she was photographed leaving the offices of Marvel Comics with an Avengers comic and business card held in her hand. The photos look really staged as if maybe she wanted people to see her (but a celebrity would never try to get undeserved attention, no of course not). Anyway people are speculating that she wants to be the Wasp seeing as that's the only original female Avengers character. I haven't heard anything about this movie so I'm betting nobody is even trying to make it yet, although I'm sure concepts for a female superhero movie are being thought about (seriously what do geeks love more than a superhero, one with boobs). I could totally see her as a Wasp in real life, you know being annoyingly buzzy trying to get you to watch Desperate Housewives. People are forgetting the other Avengers females that have popped up sporadically throughout the years though. It's actually a pretty long list and here it is just for you. These are only the confirmed members; there are still more that have questionable membership.

[caption id="attachment_928" align="alignright" width="280" caption="What do you mean you want someone who can act?"]What do you mean you want someone who can act?[/caption]Wasp
Scarlet Witch
Black Widow
Mantis
Moondragon
Ms. Marvel/Warbird
Tigra
She-Hulk
Pulsar
Starfox
Mockingbird
Firebird
Spider-Woman
Invisible Woman
Sersi
Crystal
Firestar
Silverclaw

Personally I think Eva would better be suited to play the Black Widow, you know the superheroine most known for her man-eating powers lol. I'm sure Eva would love to seduce Robert Downey Jr. :) . Also, I'd just like to point out how many females on the list have either bug or bird related names (not to mention those with female attributions). Seriously comic writers need to be more creative when naming their characters (I must say, I do like the name Sersi though :D ).

Uhm, what's your definition of shocking?

People magazine is calling Jessica Alba's new ad for registering to vote "shocking" (maybe that's just because every other voting ad is boring :P ). They're saying that it looks like Alba is being restrained by bondage gear in these pictures (even though Christina Aguilera's picture shows her with a laced up mouth). Personally, it looks like black tape to me. I don't find that as too "shocking" (especially because people have seen more nudity from her at awards shows). Maybe People magazine needs to get their heads out of the gutter. Apparently they turn to that straight away when there's the tiniest bit of nudity involved (even though you can't see anything but her shoulders and barely any chest). Besides if you look at all of the other pictures of actors and actresses supporting the campaign this ad looks tame in comparison. Seriously this fish hooks picture is really gross. Oh, but getting back to the point, the campaign is called Declare Yourself, and I think it's cool that Jessica is encouraging people to vote (even if it involves wearing nothing but black tape :D ).

Nap Time

I found some really cool and strange pillows that I thought I'd share. First off is this strange horse head pillow if you want to go Godfather style on anyone. It's actually kind of cute if you ignore the fact that it's a chopped off head of a horse :) . You can buy it in the US for $45 and it's already stuffed or you can pay $35 and stuff it yourself. If I wanted this pillow for any weird reason, I would buy the stuffable one so I could make it as firm or squishy as I wanted :D .

Next on the list are these awesome Transformer pillows. You can choose either Autobot or Decepticon pillows for your roboty nap needs. These pillows are $20 at Thinkgeek but I think they're either out of stock now or not selling them anymore :( . Hopefully they come back soon.

Thinkgeek also offers these nifty beating heart pillows. Every time you turn on the pillow it's supposed to have a unique rhythm of heartbearts specifically to calm you down so you can nap easier. It's supposed to help out with stress too :) . I kinda wonder how hard the beating mechanism is inside. I would hope there's enough fluff around it for you to be able to snuggle with the pillow comfortably because from the pictures it looks pretty solid.

Sofa Garden has some really interesting pillows available but they are pretty expensive. For instance, one of their Cigar pillows is $99.99. They also have a whole line of pillows that are breakfast related items. My favorite are the sushi related pillows. You can buy small rolls for $49.99 each and large rolls for $79.99 each (which means I can't ever have one because I wouldn't spend that much on a pillow). My favorite is the salmon sushi roll because the little red stripes just make it so fun :D .

Last on the list are these blood puddle pillows. They vary in size and shape so that's pretty cool. It makes sense because you would expect a puddle of blood to be pretty random. I actually saw these and thought that they should make fuzzy green mold pillows since the fuzziness looks a little weird for blood. Also I really love the cute little Husky snuggling with it lol. I could see my cats kneading these pillow with evil looks in their eyes too haha :D . Hrmm I'm not sure if you can actually buy these pillows or if they're just a creation from this artist. Either way, they're really cool and highly appropriate for Halloween.

Deadpool is gonna shank you!

Due to the fact that Fox's films sucked so bad this summer, they are thinking about either doing more X-men related movies or having another Daredevil film. I hope they don't do another Daredevil film because the first one was cheesey enough. Please hire some good directors and writers Fox. Also, stop killing off all of the X-men in your movies. Just a thought here, but maybe just maybe, people don't like it when their favorite characters die! Seriously, Cyclops was a commonly loved character and there was no reason for him to die off so easily. If they were gonna have the Phoenix kill him, why not have it in the end of the movie? You already paid James Marsden, why not keep him around for a little bit longer? Atleast they brought back Scott in the Wolverine movie. It says that he is being played by Tim Pocock instead.

Apparently Gambit is showing up in the Wolverine movie too. He's being played by Taylor Kitsch. It's sad when the guy who played Cyclops is more rugged looking than the guy who plays Gambit :( (Gambit was rugged when he was like 12 come on people! lol). I think whenever the next superhero movie is made, the producers should just go hire a group of 10 nerds to help out the writers or at least piss them off lol.

Oh but the good news from Fox is that apparently Deadpool is going to show up in the coming Wolverine movie. The Wolverine spot is just an introduction though. Fox plans on making its very own Deadpool movie. The bad news is that he's being played by Ryan Renolds. Now, I like Ryan Reynolds. I think he's a funny guy (I guess he could play the goofy side of Deadpool). I just don't think he can pull off the full badassery that is Deadpool. I honestly couldn't see him killing anyone, much less without caring about it. Also, he'd better bulk up because Deadpool isn't a scrawny guy. He needs to be big enough to beat the crap out of people easily. I guess we'll find out what he can do in the Wolverine movie. I hope he ends up kicking Wolverine's ass before they buddy up because we all know Wolverine can't defeat anyone alone :P . Fox should hopefully let the reviews from Wolverine come in before hiring on Ryan for the actual Deadpool movie. That would be the smart thing to do but hey why would they do a thing like that?

My own little rumor

I'm going to start my own little rumor today. I'll pet it and feed it and take care of it lol. Anyways with all of the rumor mongering going on about Batman 3, I'd like to propose some people that I think should show up in the next Batman. First of all I'd really like to see Harley Quinn show up. The first person I thought of that could play her was Natalie Portman. I'd like to see her go a little crazy, more so than she did in V for Vendetta at least. I think it would definitely be a challenge for her seeing as how so many people see her as that happy little girl even though she's 27 now. I could see Natalie working at the Arkham Asylum and either feeling sympathy for the Joker or being tricked into letting him out. Supposedly they shot enough film of Heath Ledger to have the Joker in the 3rd film so who knows. You can do a lot with computer graphics now. Speaking of which, I'd love to see a Nolanverse rendition of Harley's outfit. It would definitely have to be slinky and it needs the cute joker hat I think. The makeup should be updated too. If my computer was working, maybe I'd try to make something with Photoshop but alas, it's not. Oh and a warning for anyone who tries to look up pictures of Harley, do not google image search harlequin. Just trust me on this :( .

I was reading a cool blog yesterday and realized that I too would love to see Robin in the next film. There's also a very cool drawing of a Robin suit on there that you should check out. (You should definitely read the full article because it's got some good plot ideas.) He needs to be played by someone fairly young, at least young enough so he looks younger than Christian Bale (hopefully Nolan is smart enough not to repeat The Mummy 3's mistake geez :P ). He should definitely be a teenager so Batman can mentor him (he shouldn't be like 10 because that would make Christian Bale seem a little creepy lol). He should have to make the transformation to Robin like how Bruce Wayne becomes Batman in the first film. Also, Robin should be buff enough (If Tobey Maguire can do it, so can you!) to be a gymnast since he used to be one before his parents were killed.

Robin's suit needs to be redesigned too because he can't be that stealthy in a bright red costume with a green cape. Also, I don't want any more nipple suits like in Batman and Robin (thankfully the good people at Topless Robot remember and agree with me). I'd like the design of Robin's costume to be more similar to Nightwing's outfit in build but obviously not blue (that and he's not allowed to have a mullet like I've seen some Nightwings have *shudder*). It should be a dark red similar to the Batman and Robin outfit. If they're smart they would use the design of Terry McGinnis from Batman Beyond to go off of. He's smaller than Batman and the Batsuit looks really cool on him with the red bat logo. It could easily be modified to be Robin's new outfit. Also going along with that, Batman Beyond would be a great story to use in introducing Robin. They both have similar ways of meeting Batman except for the fact that not both of Terry's parents were killed. I also think this would be a great way to end the Batman series in the future. Start out with Batman being old and retiring. It would be a great movie in my opinion.

Seeing all those criteria I listed for Robin, I can't think of an actor that quite fits yet. Also Shia Labeouf can't be Robin!. I hope nobody gets that idea in their head because although he can be anxsty, that is not all it takes to be a dark Robin. Also, I could never see him and Christian Bale hanging out. It would just make me laugh too much. That's all for my current theories about the next Batman movie.

The Penguin is a crappy villain

This fake Riddler poster is very cool and supposedly Michael Caine has been spouting off rumors that Seymour Hoffman will be playing the Penguin and that Johnny Depp will be the Riddler. Both actors have said that they haven't even been contacted about the part. So unless someone is on vacation with Christopher Nolan and keeps leaking his secrets out, it's probably not true. Everyone has heard of the Johnny Depp Riddler rumor and a lot of people are excited about it (I certainly am). I don't like it when people stereotype Johnny Depp as a bad actor just because he has a lot of fangirls after him; because he is a good actor. I definitely agree that he's the perfect crazy to play the Riddler. Enough about that though, because I highly doubt Christopher Nolan would even use the Penguin in his movies much less hire Seymour Hoffman to play the part.

Christopher Nolan loves to go into the psychosis of each character in his Batman movies. Two-Face lost the love of his life and got his face scorched up, the Joker is so messed up that he can't even remember what screwed him up in the first place, and Batman is constantly battling with the belief that he's responsible for his parents' deaths and must avenge them somehow. The only bad thing that happened to the Penguin was that he was made fun of as a child for being a fatty, oh that and being a rich spoiled brat. What a poor life for the little guy :P . Even Wikipedia says that "Unlike most of the Batman villains, the Penguin is in control of his own actions and perfectly sane.."-Wikipedia. The penguin is just a smug villain that thinks he has the right to rob people because he was picked on when he was little. I highly doubt Nolan will think that makes him evil enough to justify using him as the main villain in Batman 3. Even if Nolan chose to use the Penguin I doubt he'd use Seymour Hoffman because personally I couldn't look at that guy and think he was creepy at all. He just seems jolly to me.

If you need more reason to think that the Penguin isn't a very good villain, he was as much of a momma's boy as you can be. The whole reason he carries the umbrella around is because she was always worrying the he would die of pneumonia just like his father. He's also supposedly a genius, but every time I've seen him, he seems just really conceited and stupid. His nickname is supposedly either from the fact that he used to have a limp in the storyline due to a hip ailment or because he really liked birds. He was that creepy antisocial boy at school who talked to birds (probably pigeons seeing as how he lived in the city, gross). That might scare me a little but other than that, he's just a crappy villain. Enough said.

Not you too Iron Man

So all kinds of celebrities are whoring themselves out selling their time on eBay in order to support Stand Up to Cancer. The latest to join the crew is Robert Downey Jr. with a chance to meet the cast of Iron Man 2. If you win the eBay auction you get basically the same thing as the Spiderman auction. I did notice this disclaimer at the bottom of the page "Role and length of screen time to be determined by Marvel, and there can be no assurance that the role will appear in the final version of the film"-eBay. Personally, I think that whoever is willing to shell out the cash should at least get a guaranteed spot in the movie even if it was for 5 seconds. It doesn't say anything like that on the Spiderman auction so does Iron Man 2 think it's to good to let the winner in for a 5s spot?

I do think it would be more fun to talk with Robert Downey Jr. than Tobey Maguire though. I mean, he's a pretty crazy guy from all the movies I've seen him in. Especially in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. I can't wait for Iron Man 2 seeing as how the first one was surprisingly good. I thought it was gonna be a dud for sure. Until then enjoy this chibi Iron Man!

I missed you Doc Connors!

This is what I get for taking Friday off! I just found out that Spiderman 4 and 5 have officially been signed onto by director Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire. There's no word as of whether or not Kirsten Dunst has signed on yet but it would be no big loss to have to choose another redhead to fill the part. I'm good with a different Mary Jane since I was a big fan of the 1994 Spiderman tv series. She usually kicked Peter's butt and got him to do stuff so it'd be a nice change of pace to see a girl do that to Tobey Maguire lol.

The better news is that people are starting to realize that you can't make every superhero emo all the time. "...I'm told the filmmakers won't be borrowing from the latest Batman installment because 'Spider-Man is its own thing,' one insider tells me. ... The difference between Spider-Man and Batman is that Batman is duelling with a dark side of himself, and that's not what Peter Parker's struggle is. Peter Parker has no dark side himself. ... Peter Parker's struggle is about sacrifice."-Nikki Finke's Deadline Daily. Hooray! This means directors aren't nearly as stupid as I was starting to believe. Also they're trying to shoot 4 and 5 at the same time since it was so difficult to get everybody to sign back on. Smart thinking.

The best part of the news is the villain theories being thrown around. "Sony is taking its time officially hiring the movie's villain since principal photography doesn't start on Spider-Man 4 until next fall because of the recently postponed May 2011 release. I am told, however, that 'once you find out who the villain is, you'll know who's playing it.'"-Nikki Finke's Deadline Daily. People are definitely thinking Doc Connors is gonna transform into the lizard man for this movie. I would have to say that I'm really excited about the prospect of having him as the villain. I hope that the director would have to follow the actual Spidey storyline to get this to work out. If he did this, he'd have a plot for the 5th movie too (if you'll remember how Spidey got all mutated and had 4 extra arms for awhile). Who saved him? Doc Connors! I'm going to need to find my sister's paper mache lizard head and my mom's old labcoat so I can run around in excitement (like I did when I used to watch the show).

Well I guess I'm giving you the worst news last but the good news above should outweigh it easily. Sony has hired some writers to start making Venom the movie. "Given that comic book artist/writer and action figure maker, Todd McFarlane, who is one of the creators of the Marvel villain, doesn't think a Venom movie could do well with a villain as the central character," I'm pretty sure Sony is going to regret their decision.-Nikki Finke's Deadline Daily. Just because you have the costumes, it doesn't mean you have to use them people. That's like saying it was ok for Saban Entertainment (The people who made Power Rangers) to make The Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog just because they had the styrofoam monster suits lying around (all they did was spray paint them different colors anyway :P ).

Cool gummies this time I promise

I found something to take your mind off of the horrible gummies I posted the other day. They're called Big Bite Gummy Bears. I would post a picture of these big bears but they won't let me have them :( .[Edit: I found a size comparison here and they are really big!.] Anyway they cost $15.83 for a package of 6. It's pretty pricey considering they are just gummy bears. I would imagine that it would take you awhile to just get through one though so maybe they're worth it. The available flavors are Cherry, Blue Raspberry, Grape, Green Apple, and Orange.

I also found some other cool gummy things starting with chocolate covered gummy bears. *drool* At $7.98/lb they're also pretty pricey but I bet they are good. It's also really cool because they don't just look like blobs, you can really distinguish the bearness :D .

Now an amazing video about making a gummy bear spontaneously combust!

Stupid celebrities and their rumors

So despite the huge rumors going on around the internet, it's been reported that Miley Cyrus hasn't died due to a car crash or any other reason. Apparently someone who can't spell started the rumor too so the people that spread it are pretty dumb. I think it started on Wikipedia too, which just goes to show you how much people would believe if you put it up there. Anyway Ms. Ihaveabadwig is still alive so all the little girls who cried about it can relax now. I was all excited to not have to hear any more bad rip offs of other people's music Hannah Montana songs or see any of the gross wigs in stores :( . Guess they're gonna be sticking around. Also since I can't stand to put another picture of Hannah Montana on my blog, like ever again so here's an amazing picture of Gir.

Hannah Montana really likes gummies

Ok I hate Hannah Montana so the only reason I'm writing about this is because it's really funny and kinda makes her look like a whore (not that she didn't already with that awful wig full of unnatural highlights.) Ok so these are supposed to be guitar shapes but everyone is thinking otherwise. I can only imagine what the microphones must look like. Most of the stories I've seen have been saying "look how scandalous her mouth looks." Uhm, has anyone seen what she looks like all the time? Just like that!

Atleast these aren't a fleshy color. What will Disney do wrong next? lol.

On a completely unrelated note, look at how cool these new duct tape bandaids are! I think they would hurt to pull off though :( .

Jealous of Australians

So today was the day that Spore was supposed to be available to Australia but the stores there started selling it on Monday. Boo I say! We don't get to see Spore until Sunday and they've already been playing for 3 days. Also, Europe and Japan are supposed to get the game tomorrow. I really hope my power supply gets back before Sunday, but knowing my luck it won't. Either that or something else will be broken in my computer :( .

From what I've read, Spore has been receiving good reviews, but not as good as expected. I guess that sometimes happens when things get a little too much hype. I've also heard that the built-in creatures are a lot less exciting than user-created ones. This isn't a shocker since people have been buying up the Creature Creator since it became available. I'm really excited for the cell stage though because I've played a simple flash version of it already. The flash game was addicting enough. It was fun just to see your cell grow longer and gain more body parts as you ate things. I'll probably write about it once I get to play the full version. Can't wait until Sunday!

[Edit: Here's the amazing flash game I was talking about and here's a pretty cool flash version of the DS Spore Creature Creator.]

No more reboots please!

[caption id="attachment_832" align="alignright" width="202" caption="I love this poster and it's bullety skully goodness"]I love this poster and it's bullety skully goodness[/caption]Is it sad that I just realized they've remade The Punisher into a movie called "Punisher: War Zone?" I hate it how all these sucky directors jumped on the superhero band wagon and decided to make movies. They didn't even try to make them good; they just thought that people would like them because of the ongoing trend. That's not how comic geeks work and it's about time they realized it. Comic readers expect perfection. Why bother going to see a crappy movie rip-off when there are dozens of comics devoted to each character? They've already rebooted The Hulk and plan on rebooting Superman. Why not just get it over with and please please please reboot X-men (atleast the 3rd one I mean come on, that's my only exception.)

Anyway it seems like there was a lot of drama between the directors and producers of this movie. If you look at Wikipedia, you can see what I mean. This movie is supposed to be really dark vs. the original film (this is good because he is you know, the Punisher) and is currently rated R. It starts off with Frank Castle already as the Punisher for several years. There is supposed to be some back story told through flashbacks though. The Punisher will be facing off with Jigsaw in this movie. (Fun fact, originally Spiderman and Nightcrawler stopped Jigsaw from framing the Punisher for the murder of one of Nightcrawler's old friends.) It's due in theaters on December 5, 2008.

Google's new browser wants your soul

It looks like Google is trying another thing to steal people's souls without them noticing. The Google Chrome beta will be launching today. They supposedly hit send a bit too early on their announcment and now have a webcomic explaining how Chrome works. I wouldn't say announcing it yesterday was all that early. I'm surprised there wasn't an announcement before then seeing as how it could've been completely hyped up by now. I guess they thought the secret slip-up would make it more exciting.

Anyway Chrome is Google's first ever browser designed to run faster and load faster as well as work better with all of the things "that didn't exist when the first browsers were created."-Google. It's also supposed to be more stable, so for Firefox's sake I hope they put out their hotfix soon. (I die a little inside everytime my Firefox 3 freezes :( .) I won't list all of the features that are supposed to be better because that would be a waste of their dorky little webcomic. [Edit: Also there's a "privacy mode" included in this browser that lets you browse incognito. As they say in the comic "what happens in this tab stays in this tab." It uses an example of buying a present for your special someone without them knowing. Basically you can view all your bookmarks but nothing is saved to your browser history. lol is it just me or does this sound like a secret porn tab? ;) Check out pages 22 and 23 of the webcomic to see what I'm talking about.]

This will make the 4th major alternative browser available. I actually found this chart on Wikipedia showing how many people use each of the major browsers. It's really sad that so many people still use Internet Explorer. I am forced to at work though so I can understand how that can add up. I'll probably try and mess around with Chrome once I get my computer fixed. (Stupid power supply had to go and die on Labor Day weekend. :( )
Dark blue-Internet Explorer (73.81%)
Orange-Mozilla Firefox (18.43%)
Grey-Safari (6.14%)
Red-Opera (0.71%)
Green-Netscape (0.62%)
Cerulean(aka the color that burns your eyes)-Other (0.29%)

Also I'd like to say sorry about that not really posting since Friday :( . I had a really busy weekend doing Labor Day stuff starting on Friday when I had to take care of my fiance after his wisdom teeth surgery.
