Tim Burton's sneaky movie

So I went on Winter vacation and vacationed from posting new stuff because I'm a bad blogger lol. But, I did find a fun new thing to post about while still on vacation so here it is. While I thought Tim Burton was too busy making Alice in Wonderland, he's been making a movie called 9 as well as being directed by Wanted’s Timur Bekmambetov. It's based off of a short made by Shane Acker and it's coming out on the very appropriate date of 09-09-09. It's got these crazy little scarecrow guys and the main character's name is 9, who's voiced by Elijah Wood. You see a scarecrow labeled 10 in the trailer so there's at least that many of them (unless imdb's scarce information that only shows numbers 7, 5, 9, 6, 1, & 2 is correct. There should be more about it considering it's less than a year away. I'm still surprised that I haven't heard anything about this movie until now.) that were created by some unknown person. Anyway, 9 is supposed to save the destroyed world. The trailer shows some sweet animation and I'm sure it'll be entertaining since Tim Burton is usually good with creepy little critters. I hunted down the short so you could watch it as well. There's this cool machine-skellie dinosaur cat thing if nothing else. Enjoy :D .

Here's the short.

Here's the trailer for the movie.

Happy Day of the Ninja!

While looking for fun Ninja stuff I found this adorable ninja plushie at chocosho. He's kinda expensive though seeing as how he costs $22. There's also some cool discount ninja weapons as well as some other ninja gear at karate depot. Another cool ninja thing is the webcomic Ninja Bunny. It's pretty cute and you should check it out :D . You should also look at this cute "Little Ninja Necklace" at shanalogic.com. Enjoy all these ninja things and the rest of Day of the Ninja 2008!

The new Sorcerer's Apprentice is not Mickey Mouse

Jay Baruchel is (you know the young guy who starred in Tropic Thunder). Jay and Nicholas Cage are starring in the new live-action Disney movie called "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" coming out sometime in 2009 (which has nothing to do with Fantasia, like at all. Now that I think about it, a live-action Fantasy movie could be really fun though, as long as it had some CG for the Centaurs and Pegasuses and stuff :-D ). Nicholas Cage is the new Sorcerer, who for some reason lives in New York and is looking for his latest apprentice (duh). I find it strange to think of Nicholas Cage as a super cool sorcerer guy like the one in Fantasia and I'm wondering if they're going to make him look old or keep him like he is. He doesn't look very sorcery at all and he's the last guy I'd pick to be one. I also think it's kind of weird to team Nicholas up with Jay Baruchel seeing as they're both pretty goofy. I don't think I could take either of them seriously especially if they had magical powers. This movie just seems like a screwed up version of Enchanted and I liked Enchanted too :( . At least that movie made some sense seeing as how all the magical things started in fantasy land. There's not too many details of this movie currently available other than what I've already said, especially considering it's supposed to come out sometime in 2009. I think it was just announced that Jay Baruchel is the co-star too, so I'm guessing it won't actually be out until at least 2010.
